Listed on the National and Hawaii Registers of Historic Places, the Wananalua Church was constructed in 1842. The bell tower and steeple were presumably added around 1897.. The Wananalua Church is significant for its associations with the settlement of Hana by western people and architecturally as a typical stone church building of the mid-nineteenth century constructed in Hawaii." The AHL team completed a survey of the church building and the adjacent parish hall to identify condition issues and elements in need of repair or replacement. Drawings and specifications are being developed to guide the completion of building repairs.
