WSCo Plantation House Rehabilitation

Preserving a resource from our sugar plantation history.

The Plantation House is located on 277 acre refuge located just north of Wailuku, Maui. The refuge contains coastal wetlands, dunes, marine shoreline, archaeological and cultural resources, habitats for native plants and animals, as well as recreation areas such as campgrounds.  The property also contains several structures, one of which is a 1930s-era house constructed for use by the former adjacent sugar plantation management.  The house is currently abandoned and has some degradation due to the coastal location and lack of maintenance.

The AHL team has completed drawings and specifications are being developed to guide the completion of repairs to this valuable historic resource. Work will also include installation of a septic system and photovoltaic system.
