Pago Pago International Airport Terminal Evaluation

Study of a unique AHL-designed structure.

A new airport terminal is being proposed for the American Samoa airport in Pago Pago, requiring the demolition of the existing terminal buildings. AHL provided an evaluation of the existing terminal building as a part of compliance with NEPA and FEMA requirements. The evaluation included review of the level of historical integrity of the historic building materials, as well as study of the history of the original design of the existing building and its context within the development of the Territory.  The review provided a basis for the evaluation of the terminal complex’s historic significance.
