The adaptive re-use of the former Panasonic building converted a warehouse space to a state-of-the-art laboratory facility. The Diagnostic Laboratory Services space takes design cues from images at a microscopic perspective. The design team used floor patterns and lighting schemes inspired by microscope images that the end-users spend much of their time viewing. Clean lines and graphic striping maintain the geometric design of the building’s exterior while also providing visitors a contemporary,all-access view into the lab through large expanses of glass to showcase functionality. Administrative offices were placed behind the lab for privacy and a break room, lab corridor and reception area were also added to the development.
