QA/QC Technical Lead Director

AHL’s office in downtown Honolulu is seeking a QA/QC Technical Lead Director to join our highly creative and collaborative team.  The successful candidate for this position will be highly organized, energetic, and team-oriented. State of Hawaii licensed architect responsible for Firm-wide Quality Control/Quality Assurance program and implementation and enforcement of the firm’s BIM and Technical production and specification standards across all studios for all firm deliverables.

education
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with a background in architecture preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of extensive experience in all phases of architecture, document and specification production, and general working knowledge of Revit documentation process and BIM coordination.
  • State of Hawaii architectural registration required, and LEED Accreditation preferred.
knowledge/skills
  • Extensive working knowledge of architectural practice, including budgeting and cost control, scheduling, planning, programming, design, specifications and working drawings; building and zoning codes
  • Technical knowledge of building materials, construction methods and building costs
  • In-depth knowledge of office standards, policies and procedures; principles of personnel supervision and management.
  • General knowledge of Revit documentation process and BIM coordination, related engineering principles; coordination of individual consultant disciplines; construction and liability laws and professional ethics.
typical duties
  • Establishes, manages and directs the office-wide QA/QC program.
  • Supervises individual Studio Technical QA/QC.
  • Leads in their direction of enforcing and implementing office standards on project deliverables.
  • Regularly updates or recommends and proposes new standards based on current Building Department, City, State, Federal, or Department of Defense agency requirements.
  • Participates in the initial kick-off meetings with project Teams to establish office project standards for BIM/Revit documentation and project specifications.
  • Regularly tracks and provides monthly reports of implementation progress of office standards to the shareholder management group.
  • Can perform QA/QC checks on project drawings and specifications on larger scale projects or on other projects as requested by the project’s Principal-In-Charge.
  • Provides periodic training to staff on standards to ensure office-wide knowledge of current office standards and procedures.
  • Recommends out-of-office seminars, training, and other opportunities for general staff training.

Salary Range $93,000 to $112,000

AHL offers a flexible 4-1/2 day work week option.  Additional work schedule options may be available for qualified staff after probationary period.
